Mass Loading ... My Recent Experience
I use the brass damping weights from Edensound. Results are component dependent, and I’ve had positive results. I have them on top of my tube preamp and DAC which have covers that are meant to be removed for tube access. These types of components ...
New Bluesound's Node 2i
The Node benefits greatly from an upgraded PC, for me it's like night and day. Also, add a good DAC with a high quality digital coax and streaming is taken to a higher level.
Time to upgrade or no
Please explain; what is the power rating of the 2 channel amp and also the 7 channel. This info will help find a matching PC for each amp.

What is your budget for a PC? I can’t speak to the Morrow cable, but at this price point the Pangea AC14XL is very good (I own one) and more revealing than the AC-9 variants. Once you move up to the next level in price and performance, you really ...
Home owner's insurance question
they will pay up front the depreciated cost of your gear and then pay the remainder of the "replacement cost" when you show proof of purchase....some carriers just pay the whole thing up front. Can you have replacement cost reimbursement on your a...
A decent preamp to complete my setup?
The following website is pretty popular for calculating gain between cartridge and phonostage...https://www.kabusa.com/pregain.htmFYI, the volume setting on the preamp will never be exactly the same as a digital source.
A decent preamp to complete my setup?

Spam threads gone wild...
It seems like less members are posting new threads. In the "Past 48 hours" there are only a handful of real threads. I believe members are spending less time on the forum; many familiar monikers haven’t been involved lately.

I had to use the "I'm not a robot" feature and thought it was a clever idea. In my case it was storefronts; it looked like Google street view. My only criticism was the images were poor quality.
Brand New Warped albums!
What happened to Q. C. anyway. This has been discussed on the forum. Many of these pressing plants are new startups and can’t keep up with the demand.QC on new production vinyl is terrible. Compromises are made in the rush to get the product out th...
Buy 12ax7 tube
Adding a power strip is an upgrade over your previous setup. Your system may not be revealing enough to notice a change in SQ, but your components are now getting better current delivery.RCA makes great tubes, all provide a lush, liquid midrange a...

Good point @noromance. They're having such an easy time getting into the forum, where else have they been?
i am starting to think Audiogon profits off the spam...
Tonight there are more spam postings than ever before, many of them are repeated.Maybe Audiogon installed software to try and stop the spammers, but instead it pissed them off.
